Scott & Janis Derrick's Earthship voyage.
An Earthship is the child of Solar Survival Architecture. Their site is sponsored by the founder, inventor, dreamer and chief architect of the Earthship, Michael Reynolds. This is an ongoing process that started over 30 years ago in Taos, New Mexico.
SSA has published numerous books and periodicals that explain in detail the philosophy, construction and living details of an Earthship. I highly recommend to any one contemplating building an Earthship to purchase or get copies from your local library of the Earthship Volumes I, II and III.
In the summer of 1999, we started building a 3 U Earthship in Cibola County, New Mexico. We hope to move-in in the summer of 2000. Note: this is a picture of our ship during the fall of 2000. Click on the image to view the full size picture.

This is by no means a construction manual. All methods discussed here represent the ways and means we found to implement the tasks laid out in our house plans and the methods found in the Earthship Volumes I, II and III. They carry no guarantee. Many times there are many possible sequences, materials or methods to accomplish the goal at hand.
